EXTERIOR PAINTING PROCESS

EXTERIOR PAINTING PROCESS

PREPARATION

Washing or pressure washing of dust and mildew from all surfaces to be painted. Loose and pealing paint is scrapped, wire brushed and sanded to a sound surface. Glossy existing paint is sanded to help the new paint adhere better. Holes and cracks are patched with exterior grade spackle and sanded. Bare surfaces and patched areas are primed with sufficient exterior primer to ensure lasting paint protection. Windows and door frames are caulked with acrylic siliconized caulking. Hardware is removed or masked before painting. Wood knots on new wood surfaces are shellac primed to prevent them from coming thorough the paint.

PAINTING

We apply one or two coats of the specified quality paint. The manufacturer's painting recommendations are followed. Care is again taken to protect adjacent areas from paint.

CLEANING

Work staging area is kept clean and organized while preparation and painting work is done. Additional cleaning is done at the end of the day.
